The original 18th-century Green Dragon Tavern was the historic Boston bar where American revolutionaries planned anti-British demonstrations like the Boston Tea Party. ![]() The new menu expands these offerings to include a variety of new dishes such as sesame seared ahi tuna salad, Brussels sprouts with applewood smoked bacon and maple syrup, tempura cauliflower tossed in sweet and spicy sauce, pizzas, shepherd’s pie, cedar-planked salmon, beef bourguignon and house-made pappardelle pasta. In the past, the restaurant, bar and conference menus have been heavy on seafood and traditional Americana fare, such as clam chowder and lobster rolls. Two seasoned chefs have been hired to refresh the 22,000-square-foot destination’s culinary program. In honor of that milestone, the Colonial America-themed restaurant, bar, museum and conference center is undergoing a major menu revamp. All drinks are bottled or canned.Next month, Carlsbad’s Green Dragon Tavern and Museum will mark its ninth birthday. The couple serving us did a great job, definitely a cozy and welcoming place, the atmosphere definitely would be a great place to take a date. We will definitely be bringing mom back here, all the food tasted great, warning soup comes out HOT, buyer beware. ![]() I brought my 3 toughest food critics with me tonight, and all three gave the thumbs up approval tonight. We purchased Broccoli and Beef, Orange Chicken, Miso Soup, Egg Flower (similar to Egg Drop) and some chicken fried rice. Menu super simple and easy to understand (see picture) the couple here took our order for 4 people and had the food all out in under 8-10 minutes. There was no one in the restaurant when we came in tonight but it was only 8:05pm so we had about 45 minutes to stuff our face before we had to leave to make our movie. ![]() Rolled the dice tonight and ended up with City Dragon, this little hidden Gem has been feeding the City of Poway for more than 18 years. ![]()
